NOAA Awards Contract Supporting Coastal Community Resilience

Tellus Civic Science Corporation (Tellus) is delighted to announce that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office for Coastal Management (OCM) awarded our team a five-year Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) to provide technical assistance to the grantees of the Climate Resilience Regional Challenge (CRRC). This program is aimed at increasing resilience to extreme weather events in coastal areas, which aligns with our mission to strengthen community resilience and create a more equitable world for all.  The contract serves as a pivotal partnership for our organization, as we provide crucial support to communities in mitigating the impacts of climate change.

NOAA strategically targeted $575 million from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) for 19 transformational projects to equip vulnerable communities in reducing the impacts from storms, floods, sea level rise, coastal erosion, extreme heat, and other natural hazards, with project locations across the U.S. — including Alaska, Delaware, Hawaii, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Micronesia, Minnesota, New Jersey, Rhode Island, U.S. Virgin Islands, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin. Tellus is partnered with world-class organizations for this BPA to include CASE Consultants International (CASE), ICF Incorporated LLC (ICF), RTI International (RTI), and Integrated Systems Solutions (ISS). We are eager to begin our collaborative support of the grantee recipients through place-based Resilience Specialists that will provide tools, resources, and training needed to ensure their projects are successful, with special efforts to pursue equity and inclusion throughout project implementation.  https://coast.noaa.gov/funding/ira/resilience-challenge/projects.html
